As shown, the regurgitant pivot purging jets in the On-X valve flow outward toward the wall of the ventricle or atrium. When viewed parallel to the valve pivot axis, the jets diverge. When viewed perpendicular to the valve pivot axis, the jets converge. This is unlike the inward directed regurgitant jets of other bileaflet valves that appear to converge in all views.
