“I am very happy with the progress I’ve made in the 10 weeks”

I am 55 years old and was diagnosed with aortic stenosis about 8 years ago. I had surgery on March 19th and had the On-X valve inserted. I am very happy with the progress I’ve made in the 10 weeks since then. Once I decided that I needed the valve replaced, my surgeon laid out the option of tissue valve vs mechanical valve. After deciding on a mechanical valve, I honestly didn’t research the different brands but relied on my surgeon to determine the brand that would be the best fit for me. He did an excellent job and I know he speaks highly of the On-X valve and is the valve he uses most often. I had the typical, but not overly severe, symptoms (ex short of breath, etc) prior to the surgery and it’s been 10 weeks since surgery so I haven’t recovered enough to see an improvement in physical activities but I’m looking forward to that.

I do know that the results of the surgery, valve replacement and recovery have been fantastic so far.

I’m grateful that we have top notch hospitals with the best medical staffs. But it also takes companies like On-X to put superior and life changing products in the hands of surgeons. You should be proud to work for a company that dedicates it’s daily efforts toward making significant and life changing improvements in peoples lives. I owe a debt of gratitude to your company for allowing me to live a full and healthy life for years to come because of the valve. Thank You!
