Mission Statement
On-X Life Technologies, Inc. (On-X LTI), formerly Medical Carbon Research Institute (MCRI), is committed to restoring the patient’s quality of life by developing, manufacturing and marketing products that are unsurpassed in quality and performance.
On-X LTI, a privately held company, was founded in 1994 and is located in Austin, Texas.
The primary focus of On-X LTI is threefold:
- Continually improve pyrolytic carbon coating technology along with supporting processing and inspection technologies,
- Advance the level of prosthetic heart valve performance while reducing the level of patient valve related complications, and
- Provide additional cardiac surgery products that uniquely improve patient care.
The On-X LTI story is unique among medical device companies because On-X LTI’s management and production teams have been at the forefront of the tandem technologies of carbon biomaterials and prosthetic heart valve design since the 1960’s. Our state-of-the-art On-X valve is attracting worldwide attention for its outstanding clinical performance.
On-X LTI also collaborates with a number of companies to develop and manufacture components for their products utilizing our proprietary and leading edge pyrolytic carbon processing technologies.
