“The sound of the valve is music to my ears, a valve and a sound that is for life”

I was diagnosed with aortic valve disease over 10 years ago. It progressed, requiring replacement at the age of 57. I did not want to be limited to higher dose anti-coagulation for the rest of my life, so my surgeon suggested I research the On-X valve. I’m so glad I did. The valve was surgically implanted May 1 of 2012 and now I await the research results and FDA approval of choices re: anti-coagulation drugs. In the meantime, the sound of the valve (which is not very loud) is “music to my ears” a valve and a sound that is “for life&rdquo.
